A new and exciting way for the heavily educated to make money has been suggested by readers of R&D Magazine, a US publication that recently featured an ad for a microbiologist.
After detailing the dazzling qualifications for the perfect applicant, the ad ends with a line in bold stating "No PhDs will be considered". Online debate has centred on whether this is a mere inducement to such types to lie on their CVs. But some are considering applying, being rejected and then launching a passive-smoker style class-action suit against the employer for discrimination. One says it reminds him of an applicant for a job with the police in Florida. He did well in all the tests, but his rejection letter told him he was "too smart".
