The representation of Nordrhein-Westfalen (NRW) to the European Union is organising a platform event in Brussels to showcase the region's research in the field of optical technologies on 10 December.
The event is one in a series of presentations on different research themes being held in Brussels, and also aims to foster contacts between researchers in NRW and the rest of the EU.
The programme for the platform event includes a presentation of European research strategies in the field of optoelectronics by Rainer Zimmermann from the Commission's DG Information Society. Jörg Bickenbach, NRW's Deputy Minister for economic affairs, energy and transport, will open proceedings with a presentation on innovation and high technology in the region.
The event is open to all those with an interest in optical technologies, particularly those concerned with research and cooperation. The working language for the event is English.
