(Photograph) - Many university rifle and pistol clubs could be forced to close if tough new gun laws, announced in this week's Queen's Speech, are passed. All of them will have to strengthen security with metal detectors, alarms, reinforced walls and perimeter fences. The cost could be prohibitive for clubs with on campus ranges. Those using outside ranges could also be affected if public clubs cannot afford the measures. As only .22 pistols will be allowed, higher calibre shooting will end.
