"Nobody has really noticed his existence." While politicians operate on the oxygen of publicity our Alumnus to be proud of No 173, foreign office Africa minister Tony Lloyd, could be forgiven for wishing that comment by a leading Africa-watcher still held true. Perhaps he could plead that earning degrees from Nottingham University and Manchester Business School and lecturing (1979-83) in economics, statistics and business at Salford University left him little time to be aware of Sierra Leone.
