The Duke of Edinburgh, opening an Edinburgh university building recently in his role as chancellor, evoked memories of his visit to the nearby Ashworth Laboratories last year. Those preparations had involved a battalion of decorators applying polish and paint - but the redecoration was confined only to corridors and rooms along HRH's exact route. Staff have suggested that an HRH visit along different routes each year might be the best way to achieve total refurbishment.
