Higher education is in the vanguard of developments in information technology. But are the heads of institutions up to speed?
In a submission to the consultative steering group on the Scottish Parliament, the Association of University Teachers Scotland stresses the importance of information technology and Internet access, suggesting that public libraries and similar institutions should have easy online access to the Parliament.
The Committee of Scottish Higher Education Principals also wants to see a more accessible approach, but its concerns are rather less high-tech. During all aspects of parliamentary proceedings, it says, visitors should be allowed to make notes.
