Poor quality teaching should be highlighted by public "naming and shaming" rather than financial penalties, says the National Union of Students.
While it believes the broad framework suggested in the QAA's original consultation paper will help improve quality for students, it says crucial issues have been left out. The NUS wants fees, other course costs, equal opportunities, timetabling and policies on changing courses included in the QAA audits. It also calls for mandatory qualifications frameworks for institutions as a condition of public funding.
