A group of ecologists and evolutionary biologists from Imperial College London are performing a comical sketch show with science at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this year. The Tensile Strength of Cats combines visual gags, dance, dead-pan dialogue and elaborate costumes in a routine that ranges from the role of cats in particle physics to the explanation of parasitism through an "interpretative dance". En route, the cast compare time travel to a badly ironed shirt and use the UK rail network to explain chaos theory.
