The engineering unit of assessment table was led by Imperial College London with a GPA of 3.74.
In second was the University of Cambridge (3.69) and in third was the University of Oxford (3.67).
Imperial also leads the way on research power and funding market share on account of its very large submission, consisting of 420 FTE staff.
At a national level the Engineering UoA has a GPA of 3.28, with 40 per cent of its submission rated 4*. 7432.39 FTE staff were submitted to this UoA.
