Staff and students at Roehampton University have launched the first interactive audiovisual service to connect the poverty-stricken Saharawi refugees in south-western Algeria to the rest of the world. Just Messaging is designed to give a voice to the Western Sahara natives, who are calling for a referendum to vote on their independence from Moroccan control. Members of the tribe were taught how to record and post their own messages after a visit from staff and students.
