Rumours persist about subterranean rubber rooms in the former MI6 headquarters in London, which are now home to the Qualifications, Curriculum and Assessment Authority (Antithesis, August 21).
For Sunday Times education correspondent Judith O'Reilly these rumours appeared too tempting. At a recent QCA press briefing she could not resist a poke around in the basement.
"Have you a torch," Ms O'Reilly was heard to ask QCA communications supremo Tony Millns. "No, but you can have my bicycle lamp," replied a clearly amused Mr Millns. Sadly, an hour's search turned up nothing.
