Bournemouth University has hit on a novel way of using the summertime blues to recruit students. It is helping to fund the South Dorset Blues Appreciation Society's summer school, which offers adults and young people tuition in all instruments normally found in blues bands.
Suzanne Hume, head of lifelong learning, said: "With the university involved in the development of a new foundation degree in creative music at Weymouth College, we see the blues summer school as an important link between potential students and the new course."
