The Teacher Training Agency says there is still "significant under-recruitment" of teachers in key subject areas. This year's secondary teacher training courses show an expected shortfall of 25 per cent in maths, 11 per cent in science, 35 per cent in modern foreign languages and 40 per cent in technology.
