The University of Teesside is creating 45 academic posts to enable the institution to increase its student population by 1,000 to 15,000 by the end of next year.
New staff will help develop areas such as health, sport and computing. They will also help to support a range of programmes in the media and leisure industries. Fourteen of the new posts are being financed from a special grant of Pounds 1 million over three years from the Higher Education Funding Council for England.
