They may be missing Neil Hamilton, but MPs are careful to guard their collective public reputation. The best laugh of the Dearing debate came when Liberal Donald Gorrie complained the press had seen the report before some MPs and protested that "MPs are just as trustworthy as journalists". The ironic laughter that greeted this came from the Chamber and not the gallery.
