Ulster University has launched the first television advertising campaign commissioned by a university in Ireland. Brendan Kelleher, the university's director of communications, said it would affirm the university's commitment to Northern Ireland. It is clearly aiming at a wide clientele: the transmission times for the first night of the three-week campaign included ad breaks during the ITN news, A Country Practice, the gap between Coronation Street and World in Action, and the shock-horror my sister-married-her-transsexual mother-in-law" Jerry Springer show.
