A secret report has said the planned Pounds 98 million "peaceline" campus in West Belfast is not economic.

The confidential document, which has enraged senior academics at the University of Ulster, is the first draft of a report by consultants Pieda.

A source at the university said: "Everything was very positive but now we don't know what is going on and we want to find out. For the first time we are contemplating the possibility of defeat. Our fear is that any money is going to be evenly divided between us and other projects."
