A major international conference dedicated to fairytales took place at the University of East Anglia from 22 to 25 April. It marked the 30th anniversary of the publication of The Bloody Chamber, a collection of short stories inspired by fairytales penned by novelist Angela Carter. Delegates took a study visit to the Norwich Puppet Theatre for a special performance of the fairytales published by the Brothers Grimm, and heard the thoughts of Marina Warner and Jack Zipes, two leading modern-day scholars of fairytales.
