University of Leeds - Now then, Jim fixes it again

Sir Jimmy Savile, the former Radio 1 DJ best known for his television show Jim'll Fix It, has pledged up to £300,000 to support aspiring medical researchers at the University of Leeds. Sir Jimmy has been a longstanding supporter of the Leeds Undergraduate Research Enterprise scheme, through which students take part in research, are mentored by leading academics and carry out community outreach work alongside their medical degrees. Since its launch four years ago, the scheme has supported the development of 11 medical researchers, and the additional funding will ensure it continues for a further five years.
