Plans for a school of engineering at the University of Lincoln have received a boost in the form of more than £3 million in funding from the East Midlands Development Agency. The money is in addition to a £4.3 million grant from the Higher Education Funding Council for England announced last July, plus major investment by technology firm Siemens. Construction is due to start this year, with the facility opening in 2011. Lincoln said it would be the first purpose-built engineering school in the UK for more than 20 years.
