The University of Plymouth has announced plans for its degrees in business and management to incorporate a rolling programme of work experience at every stage. Instead of a six- or 12-month block of time with a single company, students will work with businesses and social enterprises throughout their entire courses. Hilary Duckett, associate dean of teaching and learning at Plymouth's School of Management, said that when local employers needed to develop a brand, a marketing programme or a communications strategy, they will be able to get "groups of students to respond in a hands-on way". A pilot scheme, starting in September, will involve an initial contingent of 120 undergraduates.
