Universities in the west of Scotland this week launched a major project to combat low aspirations and underachievement in local schools.
Goals (greater opportunity of access and learning with schools) was kicked off by deputy minister Nicol Stephen. The universities of Glasgow Caledonian, Glasgow, Paisley and Strathclyde, the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, and Glasgow School of Art will maintain contact with pupils from year six onwards through a range of activities.
