Vice-chancellors have added their weight to calls to ensure that the results of all publicly funded research are made freely available on the web. In a statement issued this week, Universities UK said that such a move would not only benefit the intellectual community but that the improved accessibility of these materials would enhance the reputation of UK research worldwide.
