Is the academic work-life balance off-kilter? The findings of Times Higher Education's global survey of univeristy staff's fulfillment with their personal and professional lives is discussed as well as an analysis of UK university enrolments showing a trend towards targeting more mature students at some institions. And we look at how changes in the French high school baccalaureate have sparked protests of President Macron's policies while another higher educaiton institution is benefitting from what it calls a "Macron effect'.
