Dandridge’s myopia

十一月 30, 2017

In your news article “In mission to protect students, OfS will be ‘tough and rational’” (News, 16 November), you report Nicola Dandridge, the incoming chief executive of the Office for Students, as saying: “You only have a higher education experience once.” She goes on to imply that this unique experience happens early in a student’s life for “two, three or four years”.

Really?

Her assertions must come as something of a shock to inter alia Birkbeck, University of London and the Open University.

Even in the 19th century, what she says was not always true; far less in the 21st century.
