For the vole role

五月 11, 2017

I was delighted to learn (The Week in Higher Education, 27 April) that Natalie Nevarez from the University of Michigan is to conduct research on the sex lives of prairie voles (Microtus ochrogaster). However, it is still disappointing that the most appropriate experimenter, D. M. Vowles, confined himself to pioneering studies of maze learning in the wood ant (Formica rufa), the behaviour of the ring dove (Streptopelia risoria) and the retina of the housefly (Musca domestica).
