The World Academic Summit hosted by the National University of Singapore brought together more than 500 university and industry leaders to discuss the transformative power research can have in advancing knowledge, driving economic growth and building nations. 

Sara Custer is joined by THE's chief knowledge officer Phil Baty and editor John Gill to discuss the highlights. Eng Chye Tan, president of NUS, Mamokgethi Phakeng, vice-chancellor of the University of Cape Town and Jenny Dixon, deputy vice-chancellor strategic engagement at the University of Auckland also provide comment.
