We are delighted that Times Higher Education is a finalist in four categories of the prestigious British Data Awards 2024.
The British Data Awards is an annual quest to discover and celebrate the UK’s data success stories.
THE is a finalist for:
- Climate Change Initiative of the Year – for THE’s pioneering Impact Rankings, which support universities' work towards delivering all of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, including of course SDG 13 - climate action.
- Data for Good Initiative of the Year – for the ground-breaking Sub-Saharan Africa Rankings, developed in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation to provide a unique set of performance metrics and an evaluation framework specifically designed to meet the needs of African universities south of the Sahara and the goals of Vision 2063.
- Data Team of the Year a new category introduced for the first time in 2024 to reflect team recognition.
- Duncan Ross, THE's chief data officer, for Data Leader of the Year.
Commenting on being a finalist in the four categories, Duncan Ross, chief data officer said:
“I am thrilled we have been nominated in all our submitted four categories at the British Data Awards 2024. This reflects our ongoing development in support of our mission to combine data and expertise within a global platform helping universities deliver transformative impact for people, places and the planet. All of this would not be possible without the data team at Times Higher Education and so I am particularly proud of their achievement as a finalist in the new category of Data Team of the Year.”
Jason Johnson, co-founder of Predatech and a British Data Awards 2024 judge said:
“Each year we set out on a quest to discover and celebrate the very best that the world of data has to offer. I’ve been blown away by the standard of entries this year and would like to extend my congratulations to all our Finalists on this incredible achievement.”
