Ajeenkya DY Patil University was established in 2015 by the Government of Maharashtra.
The university is located in Lohagaon, a neighbourhood in northeast Pune, India.
The university consists of nine schools: school of management, school of information technology, school of design, school of hotel management, school of engineering, school of film and media, school of liberal arts, school of law, and the D Y Patil school of architecture.
Outside the classroom, students are able to participate in the university’s extracurricular activities. There are a variety of clubs available for students to join including matheletics club, debating society, greentech club, and chef’s club.
International co-operation is an important part of the university’s activity. It has developed partnerships with a number of higher education institutions around the world including the University of Central Lancashire, Coventry University, and the University of South Carolina. By cultivating a network of international relations, the university aims to boost the mobility of its academic staff and students.
The name "Ajeenkya" means undefeated, unconquerable and victorious, and can be found on the university’s logo. The logo also contains an eagle with its wings spread, which signifies flight towards the sky that is constantly rising higher. There are two saluting elephants, which symbolise strength and abundance.

As part of the Academy’s senior management team, the Dean will undertake a broad range of duties at Academy and School levels. The Dean of Dance will be a highly experienced performing arts practitioner and educator who will bring high level discipline-based expertise to the Academy to ensure that the School maintains its place as a leader in dance education within the higher education sector. The Dean will be responsible to the Deputy Director (Academic) for the academic, artistic and operational management of the School. The Dean is expected to lead and shape the overall vision and academic development of the School during a period of significant and exciting development within the Academy and the higher education sector in Hong Kong. The postholder will be required to work collaboratively with colleagues in delivering the Academy’s Strategic Plan 2024-2033. The Dean will work closely with senior staff to promote innovative developments in the delivery of performing arts education, with a particular focus on the Academy’s unique strengths, including its location in a dynamic and diverse cultural metropolis, and its focus on interdisciplinary collaboration, arts technology and original creativity. The Dean will also play an important role in the development of local, regional and international partnerships in the field of dance education, building upon existing strengths and developing new areas that support the overall growth and positioning of the School. Although subject to negotiation, the expected commencement date is 1 August 2026. Key requirements: The eligible candidate should have a strong track record as a leading expert in the field of Dance, including the following attributes: Strong academic and/or professional background in dance. Strong track record of teaching, scholarly achievement and curriculum development. Demonstrated record of successful artistic, academic and administrative accomplishment in leading an academic community with diversified interests. A successful track record of leadership within an educational institution or similar performing arts based organisation. Solid knowledge of trends and developments in performing arts education, as well as an in-depth understanding of the Academy’s role and future development in the region. A strong vision for the School and its future development, alongside the Academy’s other schools and in line with the Academy’s strategic vision. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. TERMS OF APPOINTMENT Appointment will be on a four-year renewable contract, subject to performance and mutual agreement. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. Job Details This Research Engineer will contribute to an international joint project related to policy-making in urban planning and design, focusing on developing a Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) framework and tool. The work will involve integrating results from GeoTOPSIS and/or VectorMCDA in QGIS, enhancing spatial decision support for blue–green infrastructure and ecosystem service evaluation. The Research Engineer will lead the software development and interface programming, working closely with the GIS Research Fellow and interdisciplinary project team members to create a user-friendly, scalable decision-support tool for planners and policymakers. As part of understanding the ecosystem services that are involved in Singapore, the successful candidate will also be expected to perform some field-based data collection during the duration of the project. Key Responsibilities Work closely with the PI, Co-PI, and research team to ensure timely completion of all project deliverables. Implement and enhance GeoTOPSIS/VectorMCDA algorithms within QGIS using Python or equivalent programming frameworks. Develop a user-friendly interface (QGIS plugin or web-based application) for decision-making and data visualization. Collaborate with the GIS Research Fellow to integrate ecosystem service layers and model outputs. Conduct tool testing, validation, and iterative refinement based on stakeholder feedback. Manage documentation, data pipelines, and version control. Support system deployment on a secure project server and ensure cross-platform interoperability. Assist in project management and support the team in facilitating and organizing workshops, stakeholder sessions, and policy dialogues. Be involved in regular field work data collection and to perform environmental and biodiversity surveys (fish, birds and insects) as part of a research team. To communicate in any relevant internal or external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met. Any ad-hoc duties assigned by Supervisor. Job Requirements Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Geomatics, Environmental Informatics, or related fields. Strong programming skills in Python, R, or JavaScript for spatial analysis, interface development, or web applications. Experience in plugin or dashboard development (e.g., PyQGIS, Dash, Streamlit, or web-GIS frameworks). Familiarity with GIS concepts and geospatial data structures; experience with QGIS or ArcGIS will be an advantage. Ability to translate analytical models into intuitive, interactive user interfaces. Good teamwork, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated and able to learn new tools and frameworks independently.
