Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina was founded in 1889 and is a public land-grant research intensive university with a proud military heritage. Clemson boasts 1,400 acres of land nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Clemson students are strongly encouraged to incorporate a study abroad experience in their overall Clemson journey. Programs are available on six continents for all disciplines and interests.

An important aspect of Clemson is its dedication to improving the world through public service. In a typical year, Clemson students contribute over 100,000 service hours.

Clemson students can also participate in a wide variety of activities outside of the classroom. With more than 500 campus clubs and organizations including fraternities and sororities, students can engage in such endeavors as student media, intramural sports, performing arts, professional associations and other special interests. With 19 NCAA intercollegiate varsity sports, the Clemson Tigers offer exciting spectator sports year round
