关于 Neumann University
Neumann University was founded in 1965 as an all-women’s institution, Our Lady of Angels College. Its founders were the Catholic congregation of the Sisters of St Francis of Philadelphia. In 1980 the college accepted its first male students and changed its name to honour Saint John Neumann.
17 undergraduate, six Master’s and three doctoral programmes are on offer at the university. A broad range of academic disciplines, from art to biology, are covered at Neumann, but it is best known for its nursing and physical therapy courses.
The liberal arts curriculum gives students a broad spectrum of knowledge, thinking skills and theology with which they can approach their career and the challenges of life.
Student athletes at Neumann compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). The university has 21 competitive teams in sports ranging from coed inline hockey to men’s and women’s cross country.
The Sisters of St Francis continue to sponsor Neumann University, and it upholds Catholic traditions in its teaching. Reverence, integrity, service, excellence and stewardship are the values the university aims to instil in students during their time at Neumann.
The Institute for Sport, Spirituality and Character Development is the university’s way of uniting its faith with the personal progress of its students. The institute uses sport as a means for students to explore their own teamwork, sportsmanship and spirituality.
Neumann University is located in Aston, Pennsylvania, half an hour away from the cultural, creative and sporting entertainment of Philadelphia.
