Expert academics teach using their practical experiences to ensure foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate students receive the highest quality of education. Ranked 4th for employability, 5th for course quality and 15th overall in the Uni Compare Annual Student Review Rankings 2025, we are focused on preparing students for a successful future.

Our Initial Teacher Education programmes at the University of Derby have been rated as ‘Outstanding’ in the latest Ofsted report. We're also Top 15 for satisfaction with feedback in the Guardian University Guide 2025, and Top 20 for overall assessment and feedback in the National Student Survey 2024. 

Within all our courses, we have a strong emphasis on employability and are proud to say that 96% of our UK graduates are in employment or further study (HESA Graduate Outcomes 21/22).

The University is continuously investing in its campus facilities and the overall student experience and in 2025, a brand-new Business School will open offering a modern hub for students and start-up companies to learn, network and prosper. The build forms part of the University’s promise to support entrepreneurial growth and business connectivity in the city of Derby and is set to hold world-class equipment.
