Gr8 nus 4 U?

Jason Garner ("Is this written in text or just bad spelling?", THES, September 19) suggests that we force students to write on computers with the spellchecker on. But then we would have to explain what a word underlined in red indicates. We would also have to motivate them to press the function key.

I, sadly, failed with the author of a masters dissertation I marked last night. He evidently felt that this penultimate task before printing his final draft was unnecessary.
