Anthony Glees is concerned that his research method is being "rubbished". Would that be the same research method that led him, in his 2003 book The Stasi Files , to accuse me - wrongly - of having had a series of secret meetings with a Stasi official from the German Democratic Republic Embassy? The same research method that led him to go barking up the wrong tree in pursuit of a Stasi informer in the British peace movement? Or the research method that involved making allegations on the basis of evidence that he claimed never to have seen because it had been destroyed?
