Those who lecture and provide support at London Met have done a great job carrying on while those charged with managing the university lurched from one disaster to another. Some of those "managers" have now departed, but there is a wider lesson to be learned beyond individual incompetence.
Universities are educational institutions, not businesses, and governance structures that use the mechanisms of the market are entirely inappropriate for them.
