The vice-chancellor of the University of Central England is gratified and feels that the academic staff at Oxford University deserve to be the lowest paid in the country (Letters, October 7). I see on other pages of The Times Higher that Oxford is rated as the second-best science university and 13th-best technology university in the world. Central England is not featured.
