While I agree with Helen Davey's point in her Soapbox column (July 1) that institutions should take some responsibility for incorporating work experience into the academic programme, students themselves need to be more proactive about seeking work experience throughout their degree.
At the National Council for Work Experience, we've set up a guide on our website www.work-experience.org . I'd urge graduates and students to take a look.
