This month I delivered the manuscript of a new anthology of Max Weber's writings to the publisher.
I have been able to pursue the research, scholarship and translation necessary to produce an accurate and accessible textbook in a university whose activities are mainly - but not solely - concentrated on teaching.
The new regime laid down in the white paper will probably put me in the last cohort of lecturers in the English education system who can do this.
Researchers in 5* departments will be too busy doing "real" research to bother with the transmission of the canon in lectures and seminars.
