Only 18 vice-chancellors listed reading as a hobby ("Guns, guts and gardens", September 10)? I'm astonished you didn't make more of this.
It suggests that intellectual interests are no more common among university "bosses" than among those in the private sector. None of them mentioned anything creative, except the wood-turner. But 21 watch sport. What a dreary lot!
