Sean Wallis (Letters, October 26) condemns the Government's attempts to involve universities in its academies project. So why doesn't he resign from University College London, an institution that is, outrageously, not run by the local council, and which engages in rigorous academic selection? Surely he finds it unbearable working in such an appalling Thatcherite-capitalist-imperialist-elitist institution as UCL and would be much happier retraining as a teacher in a comprehensive school. Long live Dave Spart!
