Lincoln Theological Institute

Martyn Percy, former chaplain of Christ's College Cambridge, has been appointed director of the newly established institute for the study of religion and society in Sheffield from September 1997.

University of Wales College of Medicine Wyn Roberts has been appointed president in succession to Tasker Watkins who retires from the post on July 31, 1997. Wyn Roberts is former MP for Conwy and parliamentary under-secretary of state at the Welsh Office and minister of state (1987-94). Michael Griffith has been appointed to the council. He is the currently chairman of the Countryside Council for Wales.

Colchester Institute

Helen Parr, former deputy principal at North Hertfordshire College, Stevenage, has been appointed principal of the institute, succeeding John Threlfall.

ISVA

Paul Syms, principal of Paul Syms Associates and visiting professor of land and property at Sheffield Hallam University, has been appointed chairman of the education committee of ISVA (the professional society for valuers and auctioneers).
