University of Aberdeen

David Wilson, chairman of Scottish Hydro Electric plc and a former governor of Hong Kong, will be installed as chancellor on May 17. He succeeds Kenneth Alexander in the post. Michael Ord, former chief executive of Fife Healthcare, has been appointed director of finance.

Inns of Court School of Law

Richard Stone, professor and dean of the law school at Nottingham Trent University, has been appointed principal succeeding the current dean, Mary Phillips, on September 1, this year.

Higher Education Foundation

Stewart Sutherland, principal of the University of Edinburgh, has been appointed president of the foundation. He succeeds Roy Niblett in the post.

OFTEL

Barry Evans, professor at the University of Surrey, has been appointed special advisor to the director general of the Office of Telecommunications Regulation.
