Appointments

Oxford centre for Hebrew and Jewish studies Brad Sabin Hill, curator of Rare Hebrew Books in the National Library of Canada (1979-89) and head of the Hebrew section of the British Library (1989-95) has been appointed fellow-librarian, taking charge of the Leopold Muller Memorial Library. He succeeds Noah Lucas on his retirement.

University of Stirling Randolph Richards, professor and former deputy director has been appointed director of the institute of aquaculture, succeeding Ron Roberts.

University of Teesside The following school directors have been appointed: Diane Meehan, school of computing and mathematics, former head of the computing department at North East Wales Institute of Higher Education; Stephen Baskerville, school of law, humanities and international studies, former dean of the school of arts at Hull University; Pamela Abbott, school of social sciences, former deputy dean of the University of Derby's school of education and social science; Graham Harvey, school of science and technology, former dean of the faculty of technology at the University of East London; Nick Hodge, school of business and management, formerly acting dean and specialist in industrial sociology and organisational behaviour; Michael Holmes, school of health, formerly associate dean in the school of human studies; Janice Webster continues as director of the institute of design.
