Appointments

CITY OF BRISTOL COLLEGE. Keith Scribbins has been elected the first chair of the college, formed from the former Brunel and South Bristol colleges on August 1, 1996. He is a former deputy director of the Staff College and chair of the Colleges Employers Forum.

THE COLLEGE OF LAW Alan Humphreys, formerly the college's finance director and secretary, has been appointed deputy chief executive.

IMI PROCESS ENGINEERING The Innovating Manufacturing Initiative, supported by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research, Economic and Social Research and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences research councils, has appointed Mike Jones of Michael Jones Associates as the sector programme manager.

LOUGHBOROUGH UNIVERSITY David Spiller has been appointed director of the library and information statistics unit. He was formerly with the British Council where he headed the libraries division. His final posting was as director of the office in Recife, Brazil.
