BIOTECHNOLOGY AND BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES RESEARCH COUNCIL

The BBSCRC has appointed Raymond Taylor, executive director of Medicinal Chemistry at the Merck Sharp and Dohme Research Laboratories Neuroscience Research Centre, as chief executive. He will succeed Tom Blundell on October 1.

Ian Bryden, senior engineer at the International Centre for Island Technology, has been appointed head of the school of mechanical and offshore engineering.

BOLTON INSTITUTE

Georgeene Eastwood, former marketing and public relations officer for the Civic Trust in the North West, has been appointed marketing and PR officer at the Institute.
