THE SCOTTISH OFFICE. Ken McCrae has been reappointed chief executive of the Student Awards Agency for Scotland for a further four years.

SHEFC. Chris Masters, former chairman of the quality assessment committee, has been appointed to the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council until 1998.

UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL LANCASHIRE. Francis Kennedy, chairman of British Airways Regional and special adviser to the chairman of British Airways, has been appointed as the first chancellor of UCL.

GWENT COLLEGE OF HE. Geoff Roberts, former reader in mechatronics, has been appointed dean of the faculty of technology, succeeding Clive Day on his appointment as dean of international affairs.
