SCOTTISH AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE. Garth Foster, chairman for the Species Survival Commission of the World Conservation Union, has been appointed head of the environmental sciences department at the Scottish Agricultural College.

BRITISH SCHOOL AT ROME

Andrew Wallace-Hadrill, Roman historian and former professor of classics at the University of Reading, has been appointed director of The British School at Rome.

ROYAL SCOTTISH ACADEMY OF MUSIC AND DANCE

The academy has appointed Vladimir Mirodan, theatre director, as director of drama. He succeeds Edward Argent.

ROEHAMPTON INSTITUTE

Richard Hess, formerly at the Glasgow Bible College, has been appointed reader in Old Testament.
