UNIVERSITY OF STIRLING

Brian Desmond, former human resource services manager at Middlesex University, has been appointed the first director of personnel.

ROYAL SOCIETY OF MUSICIANS

Rodney Slatford, head of the school of strings at the Royal Northern College of Music, has been elected chairman of the governors of the Royal Society of Musicians of Great Britain.

THE NUFFIELD FOUNDATION

Anthony Tomei, assistant director with responsibility for education, science and health at the foundation, has been appointed director.
