UNIVERSITY OF THE WEST OF ENGLAND

Paul Rylance, former head of department of law at Bournemouth University, associate dean and designate head of professional legal studies, succeeding George Miles, current head of division.

HIGHBURY COLLEGE

Karen Woods, head of news at the Ocean Radio Group, has been appointed governor on the board of the college for a period of three years from September 1.

UNIVERSITY OF BOURNEMOUTH

Richard Conder, head of the university's school of finance and law, has been appointed pro-vice chancellor (finance and corporate development).

UNIVERSITY OF MANCHESTER Howard Barringer, head of the department of computer science, has been appointed pro vice chancellor for three years from September 1.

CENTEC/CILNTEC

The development board jointly formed from CENTEC (Central London Training and Enterprise Council) and CILNTEC (City and Inner London North Training and Enterprise Council) has appointed Jeremy Long as chief executive for the merged TEC. He was formerly chief executive of Pavilion Services Ltd. and is non-executive chairman of New Solutions Ltd.
