University of Lancaster. The following consultants from Lancaster Acute Hospitals Trust have been appointed honorary professors: Allen Brown, consultant general physician with a special interest in cardiology; Philip Harrison, consultant dermatologist; Malcolm McIllmurray, consultant in medical oncology and palliative care; James Morris, consultant histopathologist.
Ian Booth, former professor in molecular and cell biology, has been appointed to the chair of microbiology; Jan Deregowski, former professor of psychology, has been appointed to the Anderson chair of psychology.
The following have been promoted to personal chairs: Robert Archbold, mathematical sciences; John Duffy, chemistry; Cameron Donaldson, public health; Neva Haites, molecular and cell biology and medicine and therapeutics; Graham Hall, mathematical sciences; Colm O'Boyle, Celtic; Stuart Ralston, medicine and therapeutics.
